  5. Expanded PTFE Gaskets: Expanded PTFE Gasketing is a type of gasket material that is made from expanded PTFE. It is designed to provide a reliable and long-lasting seal in a wide range of applications, including in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and petrochemical industries.
  6. Vulcanised O-rings: Vulcanised 'O'-rings are specialised, custom-made ‘O’-rings for exclusive applications. They are crafted from the extruded cord, allowing the supply of any specified inside diameter, starting from 180mm. What is the history of VULCAN SEALS?

Vulcan Seals was founded in 1986 by Gerry Quinn — in the modest surroundings of his lounge — with a clear ambition: to develop high-quality single-spring mechanical seals tailored to specialised industrial needs. By 1989 the business had grown sufficiently to establish its first proper office space in Rotherham (Westgate Chambers), and the expansion continued with a move in 1990 to Attercliffe. As demand increased, by 1994 Vulcan Seals relocated to its current headquarters in Sheffield — a facility that would evolve into the heart of its global operations, housing sales, commercial support, automated logistics, quality-inspection, warehousing and worldwide distribution.

What began as a small operation blossomed into a global powerhouse. In 1997 the company expanded its product range and customer base, prompting international growth. By 2010, Vulcan Seals had opened its U.S. arm, Vulcan Seals Inc., based in Minneapolis, to serve the North American market. The company celebrated hitting a £10 million turnover milestone in 2012, and marked its 30-year anniversary in 2016 — reinforcing its reputation as a trusted leader in sealing technology. Most recently, in 2022, Vulcan solidified its global reach by launching a new European distribution hub in the Netherlands and expanding its U.S. operations with a facility in Houston, Texas.
