Which type of Diaphragm seal?
Match your seal with these 3 types:
Identify your seal by matching the parts highlighted in red.
Drive Crimps in Head
The face of the seal is prevented from movement by the addition of crimps on the head.
If your seal matches this then your seal is a diaphragm seal with drive crimps in it's head.
Drive Slots in Head
The face of the seal is prevented from movement by the addition of slots in the head.
If your seal matches this then your seal is a diaphragm seal with drive slots in it's head.
Bellows Retained Face
The face is held in position and prevented from turning by the rubber bellows.
If your seal matches this then your seal is a diaphragm seal with a bellows retained face.
What is a diaphragm seal?
The shaft seal is an elastomer diaphragm seal. This type of seal is a flexible membrane that seals and isolates an enclosure. It is very flexible which allows pressure effects to cross the barrier but not the material being contained. Common uses for diaphragm seals are to protect pressure sensors from the fluid whose pressure is being measured.
