Features summary
- Robust rubber bellows seal
- Optimum flexibility and durability
- To suit common European housing dimensions.
- Bi-directional seal
- Suitable for pumps, mixers, agitators, compressors and other general applications.
- Recommended for duties with solids or hygienic applications
A robust rubber bellows seal, with a wide, larger than DIN, cross section, for optimum flexibility and durability. These seals are supplied as standard with a Type 8 STD ‘O’-Ring mounted stationary to suit common, originally European, housing dimensions.
Our mechanical seals are manufactured to a very high precision, and are as good, if not better, quality than OEM parts and are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Performance
Important: Temperature limits are the theoretical elastomer or design limitations. For maximum theoretical operating pressure for your specific size and application please refer to calculation example within this data sheet. All performance information given is for guidance only and is dependent on material, operating and application factors that affect seal performance.
The maximum operating pressures shown in the chart are based on a Carbon rotary face running against a Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide stationary face.
It also assumes stable operation at the speeds shown in the multiplier tables below, in a clean, cool, lubricating and non-volatile fluid with an adequate flush rate.
To calculate the approximate maximum operating pressure for a specific duty, multiply the pressure value obtained from the chart opposite for a particular shaft size by the appropriate factors given in the tables below.
Application conditions:
Face and seat materials:
A. Shaft size: 2” therefore pressure is 16 bar (from PV chart)
B. Media: Water (multiplier = 0.85)
C. Temperature: 50°C (multiplier = 1.00)
D. Speed: 1450 rpm (multiplier = 1.00)
E. Face combination: Carbon vs Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide (multiplier = 0.90)
For this particular seal size, the calculation for the approximate guidance maximum operating pressure would be:
A x B x C x D x E = 16 bar x 0.85 x 1.00 x 1.00 x 0.90 = 12.24 bar

Please note that due to the many operational and application variables that affect seal performance, the information given on this page is for guidance only.
We therefore strongly recommend careful individual testing and monitoring of all seals and related equipment for any proposed application.
